The quick answer

For most car campers, start with the Zempire Stealth-Jet Twin. It has two burners, packs to 5 cm, weighs 3.8 kg, and Snowys listed it at A$190. Delivery was unavailable in October 2026, so check store stock, or choose the Coleman Cascade 3-in-1 if you cook from an LPG bottle.

A fold-flat camp stove earns a spot in a wagon or 4WD when the packed height fits a drawer and the fuel matches the bottle you already carry. The thinnest stoves here pack to 5 cm. Prices, specs and stock below come from Snowys, BCF and Amazon AU, plus the Optimus and Chuk maker pages, checked on 19 October 2026. They move, so look again before you buy.

The picks

Zempire Stealth-Jet Twin

Who it suits: Couples and small families who want two burners, and a stove that lies flat beside a fridge slide.

Strengths: Snowys lists it at A$190. Two burners at 10,000 BTU each, piezo ignition, and a micro-adjustable knob per burner. In use it is 47 x 31 x 32.5 cm, with a 46 x 26 cm cooking surface. Packed it is 47 x 31 x 5 cm and 3.80 kg. Snowys lists a rear wind shield, low side shields, rubber feet and a removable pot stand. The included adapter suits propane canisters on a 1”-20 UNEF fitting. Burn time is 60 minutes on a 456 g canister. Warranty is 2 years.

Trade-offs: On 19 October 2026 Snowys said delivery was unavailable. Keswick was low stock, Brendale was in stock, and the Melrose Park warehouse was low stock. The page also showed a pre-order notice. Searches of BCF, Anaconda and Amazon AU did not turn up a Stealth-Jet listing. Sixty minutes on one 456 g canister is a short run with both burners in use.

Zempire Stealth-Jet Solo

Who it suits: Solo travellers, and couples who cook one pot and want the lowest Stealth-Jet price.

Strengths: Snowys lists it at A$120. One 10,000 BTU burner, piezo ignition and the same fitting, wind shields and 2-year warranty as the Twin. In use it is 31 x 31 x 32.5 cm, with a 28 x 26 cm cooking surface. Packed it is 31 x 31 x 5 cm and 2.60 kg. Listed burn time is 120 minutes on a 456 g canister.

Trade-offs: One burner means one pot. Delivery was unavailable. Keswick was unavailable, Brendale was in stock, and Melrose Park warehouse was out of stock. Snowys staff said the included adapter suits propane canisters, and that Snowys was not stocking Zempire’s butane adapter. A propane and butane mix needs that adapter, sold separately.

Zempire Stealth-Jet Wide

Who it suits: Families who want two burners and room for larger pans, and who can spare 59 cm of drawer length.

Strengths: Snowys lists it at A$220. Two burners at 10,000 BTU each, a cooking surface of 58 x 26 cm, and a spring-loaded pot stand. In use it is 59 x 31 x 32.5 cm. Packed it is 59 x 31 x 5 cm and 4.90 kg. Ignition, fitting and the 2-year warranty match the Twin. Listed burn time is 60 minutes on a 456 g canister.

Trade-offs: It is the heaviest and highest priced of the three, and still only 5 cm packed. Delivery was unavailable. Keswick was unavailable, Brendale was in stock, and Melrose Park warehouse was low stock. Snowys staff said there is no dedicated carry case. They named Coleman Eventemp and Zempire deluxe cases as loose fits only.

Naturehike Double Burner Folding Camp Stove

Who it suits: Campers who want a folding two-burner lighter than the Twin, and who can buy a BOM propane cartridge.

Strengths: Snowys lists it at A$199.90, shown as 4% off an RRP of A$209.99. Two burners, piezo ignition and stepless knobs, with a combined 2,300 W, 16,000 BTU and 16.88 MJ/h. In use it is 50 x 22 x 7.7 cm. In the carry bag it is 23 x 15 x 28 cm and 2.35 kg. Fuel is propane, BOM via the regulator, with a 1-year warranty. Amazon AU listed model NH22RJ003 in stock at A$209, sold by Naturehike Official and shipped by Amazon. That model matches the Snowys supplier code NH22RJ003-AU.

Trade-offs: Snowys said delivery was unavailable. Keswick was in stock, Brendale was low stock, and Melrose Park warehouse was in stock. A Snowys reply said the hose suits BOM cartridges, such as a 468 g resealable propane cartridge, and staff were not sure of an adapter for a larger cylinder on an LCC7 fitting. Amazon lists 27 x 21.5 x 13 cm and iron, which do not match the Snowys size and steel list, so confirm the unit. Amazon marked it non-returnable for hazmat reasons. BCF and Anaconda searches did not show this stove.

Coleman Cascade 3-in-1

Who it suits: Car campers who want a suitcase stove on LPG, with a cast-iron grill and griddle, and a 3/8 inch BSP bottle fitting.

Strengths: Snowys lists it at A$268, shown as 25% off an RRP of A$359.95. Two burners at 12,000 BTU each, rotary piezo ignition, and up to 2.5 hours on high. In use it is 66 x 36 x 39 cm, or 91 cm with the regulator arm. Packed, the stove is 56 x 34 x 9 cm and the hotplates are 27 x 26 x 7 cm. Snowys lists 9.90 kg, LPG, 3/8 inch BSP at the bottle and a 1-year warranty. BCF lists A$349.99, 6.7 kg, 55.9 x 33.6 x 9.4 cm and 3 years. Amazon AU had model 2182556, the Snowys code, in stock at A$268 with a 3-year warranty.

Trade-offs: Weight and warranty do not agree across the shops, and BCF’s table does not list the gas fitting. Snowys said delivery was unavailable. Keswick and Brendale were low stock, and Melrose Park warehouse was in stock. The plates travel as a second bundle. Amazon marked it non-returnable for hazmat reasons. Anaconda did not show this model in search.

Dometic Cadac 2 Cook 3 Pro Deluxe

Who it suits: 4WD tourers who already carry an LCC27 bottle and want grill plates in a case about 12 cm high.

Strengths: Snowys lists it at A$249, shown as 16% off an RRP of A$299. Two burners at 6,850 BTU each, 294 g/h per burner, piezo ignition, universal LPG and an LCC27 fitting. In use it is 56 x 35 x 30 cm. In the case it is 59 x 31 x 12 cm and 6.50 kg, with pot stands, a coffee stand, windshields and flat and ribbed ceramic-coated plates. Warranty is 2 years. Staff said the hose is 1.2 m, and calculated 6.29 hours at full power on both burners from a 4 kg bottle filled to 3.7 kg.

Trade-offs: Delivery was unavailable. Keswick and Melrose Park warehouse were in stock, and Brendale was low stock. It does not pack to 5 cm. Staff said it will not run on BOM cartridges, and it is not for a caravan bayonet, because it has no flame-failure device. One reply calls it a low-pressure LCC27 stove. Another says a gentle simmer is difficult, as on high-pressure camp stoves, and suggests a heat diffuser. Staff also suggested pots of about 16 cm as a practical minimum.

Optimus Gemini II

Not sold in Australia yet. No AUD price yet.

Who it suits: Someone who wants the lightest two-burner here, will import it, and can use an EN417 Optimus cartridge.

Strengths: On the Katadyn page, Optimus describes a fold-flat two-burner with two 4,600 W burners, a pressure-control valve and a wind shield. The table lists 165 minutes per 450 g, 4 minutes to boil 1 litre, 4.6 kW nominal (EN521) and 17,000 BTU/h (EN417). Size is 305 x 70 x 105 mm at 760 g. Fuel is an EN417 Optimus butane, isobutane and propane cartridge, outdoors only. The page showed no price. Katadyn says it is made in Europe.

Trade-offs: Not sold in Australia yet. No AUD price yet. A Snowys search for “optimus gemini” returned no results, and BCF, Anaconda and Amazon AU searches did not show this stove. The spec table does not say whether those dimensions are packed or open.

Chuk Kitchen Box

Not sold in Australia yet. No AUD price yet.

Who it suits: Car campers who want one aluminium box for pans and a stove they already own, and who can buy from Chuk in the United States.

Strengths: Chuk lists a powder-coated aluminium box with wings, legs and adjustable feet. Closed it is 28.25 x 15 x 16.75 inches (about 72 x 38 x 43 cm). Open it is 57 inches wide and 33 to 34 inches tall. Chuk says it fits stoves up to 22.5 inches wide (about 57 cm). Empty weight is about 32 lb (about 14.5 kg). The product page includes one shelf, one tray and one drawer, and says setup took 16 seconds. It listed US$665, sold out, with pre-orders for December.

Trade-offs: Not sold in Australia yet. No AUD price yet. The FAQ says Chuk ships across the US, with Canada coming soon. That FAQ lists two shelves and one drawer, not the product page’s shelf, tray and drawer, and a slightly different closed size. It is not watertight, and it is not a burner. The Stealth-Jet Wide is 59 cm long, just past 57 cm if that side must fit the tracks.

How to choose

Packed height is the reason to buy one of these. The Stealth-Jets pack to 5 cm and stand 32.5 cm high only while the shield is up. The Cascade body packs to about 9 cm, with the plates separate. The Cadac is 12 cm in its case. The Naturehike is 7.7 cm high in use and bags at 23 x 15 x 28 cm. The Optimus table lists a 70 mm side and does not call it the packed height.

Match the fitting to the bottle in the car. Stealth-Jets are propane canisters on 1”-20 UNEF. Snowys staff said a 4 kg bottle with a 3/8 inch left-hand fitting needs a Companion 3/8 inch cylinder hose kit, and a 9 kg LCC27 bottle needs a Companion 1.5 m LCC27-to-BOM hose, kept in line with the stove hose because that hose holds the regulator. Naturehike is BOM cartridge. Cascade, on the Snowys page, is 3/8 inch BSP. Cadac is LCC27. Gemini II is an EN417 Optimus cartridge.

On 19 October 2026 every Snowys stove here was unavailable for delivery, even where a shop still held stock, and each page showed a pre-order notice. Amazon AU had the Naturehike at A$209 and the Cascade at A$268 in stock. BCF listed the Cascade at A$349.99. If it has to be posted soon, start there.

Burn time matters on a long leg. Twin and Wide list 60 minutes on a 456 g canister, and the Solo lists 120. Cadac staff put 6.29 hours on both burners from a 4 kg bottle filled to 3.7 kg. The Cascade lists up to 2.5 hours on high. Treat each figure as the retailer’s.

Cook outside, clear of tent fabric, a low awning and dry grass, and check the campground and local fire rules. For a pizza oven, see the portable pizza ovens guide. For a cooker on the towbar, see the hitch-mounted grill guide.

FAQ

Which fold-flat stove suits a normal weekend?

The Stealth-Jet Twin, at A$190, if you can collect it or wait on Snowys. The Naturehike is the folding two-burner Amazon AU had in stock, at A$209. The Solo, at A$120, is the one-pot choice.

Can a Stealth-Jet run from a 9 kg bottle?

Snowys staff said yes, if an extra hose is added and the stove’s own hose stays connected, because it contains the regulator. A 9 kg LCC27 bottle needs the Companion 1.5 m LCC27-to-BOM hose they named. A 4 kg bottle with a 3/8 inch left-hand fitting needs the Companion 3/8 inch kit instead.

Which stove suits an LCC27 swap-and-go bottle?

The Cadac 2 Cook 3 Pro Deluxe. Snowys lists LCC27 and says it is not for BOM cartridges or a caravan bayonet. The Cascade listing uses 3/8 inch BSP at the bottle.

Are the Gemini II and the Chuk Kitchen Box sold here?

Not sold in Australia yet. No AUD price yet. Optimus lists the Gemini II on the Katadyn page, with no price there. Chuk sells the box in the US at US$665 and says Canada is coming soon. This check found no listing at Snowys, BCF, Anaconda or Amazon AU.

Why do the Cascade weights differ?

Snowys lists 9.90 kg and 1 year. BCF lists 6.7 kg and 3 years. Amazon AU lists 3 years on model 2182556, the Snowys code. The pages do not say whether the plates are in the weight. Check the carton and the warranty card.

Does the Chuk box include a stove?

Chuk’s page lists a box, shelf, tray, drawer, legs and wings, and no burner. The stove limit is 22.5 inches wide. The Stealth-Jet Twin, at 47 cm long, is inside that. The Wide, at 59 cm, needs a measure against the tracks.
